Plain text should be simple. But for all of plain-text’s simplicity on one machine, once you want to sync these plain text files to your iOS device, it gets harder. As far as I know, there is only one app on iOS that allows you to work with plain-text files in the iOS file system and push and pull from a git server. That app is Working Copy. While there is nothing to complain about Working Copy–it’s probably one of the most powerful apps on the platform–it bothers me there isn’t an alternative or competitor.

If I had to choose one band to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Boards of Canada. This fan-made video chronicling Boards of Canada’s history is an expansive and in-depth look into their history. I’ve watched it multiple times.

My favorite life hack from 2023 was learning about the online resources available with my library card. Through my library, I’m able to access O’Reilly, New York Times, auto repair manuals, LinkedIn Learning, WSJ, Washington Post, and plenty more. Everyone should have a library card and check which online resources are available. You pay for these resources through your taxes. Cancel a streaming service and spend that time you were wasting to learn someting new.

Growing up with the internet, I’ve had several blogging experiences. I remember having Blogspot, Tumblr, and Wordpress blogs. None of these contain anything worth reading today. But even though I wrote drivel, I’m glad I wrote. These gave me a sense that I had a “place” on the internet–that I had made a mark on the universe–that I contributed to the project of the internet. Lately, I’ve been feeling the urge to contribute again.
